Lt. Ogden Obituary

Lt. William J. Ogden "Bill", 92 of Annapolis, MD passed away on November 27, 2022. He was born in 1930 and raised in Baltimore by Dr. Frank and Ellen Ogden. He attended Baltimore City College and graduated from University of Virginia, Class of 1953, "Wahoowa." Bill served as an Officer in the Korean War and returned home to marry with his loving, devoted wife of 49 years, Nell Hughes. He began a successful, 36 year-long, career with Pharma in the Washington DC area and retired as the Director of Government Affairs with Johnson & Johnson. They retired to their new home in Grasonville, MD. They had a wonderful life, living on the Eastern Shore and enjoyed playing tennis, golf and boating on Prospect Bay. They were active members of Christ Church in Stevensville where they assisted in fund raising for the new church. He was an usher and served on the vestry. Nell and Bill loved Camp Wright and passed that love of camp to their children and grandchildren. They were involved with Hospice of the Queen Anne's County as well as adult day care and golf tournament fund raisers. Bill was a leader in business as well as social events. He is remembered for his quick wit, humor, patience and positive attitude. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was predeceased in death by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Nell Taylor Hughes. He is survived by W. Joseph Ogden (Lori Harrell-Ogden), and Polly Ogden Fenig, three granddaughters, Taylor Fenig Shirkey (Kyle Shirkey), Marley Frances Ogden, Natalie Elizabeth Ogden and two grandsons, Thomas Edward Fenig and Quinn Rourke Ogden. He was a great grandfather to Parker and Noland Shirkey. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on December 2, 2022 at Christ Episcopal Church, 830 Romancoke Rd., Stevensville, MD 21666. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of the Chesapeake (Pasadena. MD) or Camp Wright (Stevensville, MD).
