E. Elaine (Muth) Schmitz, 79 of Evansville, IN passed away April 23, 2017. She was born in Corydon, KY the daughter of the late Victor and Ida (Trusty)Muth. Elaine was preceded in death by a daughter, Nikki Holsey and siblings,
Tommy Muth and Janice Pelikan. Elaine worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in the nursery and also was an EMT. She is survived by children Douglas Van Bibber, II, Julie Roth, Gordon Van Bibber and
Amy Leake; siblings, Victor Muth, Jo Ann Gerling and Lonna Pickens; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 2 to 6pm where funeral services will follow at 6pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.sunsetevansville.com

Our families have known each other for alot of years, I'm at a loss for words right now. God will have a beautiful angel now. Elaine was my second mom for quite a few years. My thoughts and prayers and love to you and your family in this most difficult time. RIP Elaine, you will be greatly missed.

She was the best at stories. When I was little, she would read me the same 4 stories out of my favorite book over and over again. She didn't seem bothered that she'd already had to read them to me a hundred times before. And every time she would read it with just as much enthusiasm as she did the first time. Little things like this let you know just how loved you are.....
