Christopher (Chris) Driscoll Blum, age 47, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Susan Roberts Blum, passed away suddenly in his home on Sunday, March 15, 2015. Chris, an amazing husband, father, son, brother and prince of a man, was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Leonard and Maureen Blum of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, University of Kentucky and Virginia Commonwealth University where he obtained his Master of Fine Arts.
Chris was a Cincinnati Reds fan, a mélomane, and an avid reader. He was an artist who created works of art that will continue to fill many people with incredible joy. Most of all, Chris was a father in every sense of the word. He found light, hope, laughter and wisdom through his children. He cherished and loved them above all else.
Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife and parents, include his children, Colin Kinsella and Sarena Noelle Blum, his sister Katherine Blum and her husband John Desmond, nieces and nephews, Annabella and Rafferty Desmond of Cincinnati, and Dana and Sean Roberts of Columbus, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place in Cincinnati and a separate memorial will be held for loved ones in Fairfield. Details for this service will be forthcoming. I am stunned and shed tears now for Chris and this enormous loss for your family. Ann and I are so very sad at Chris' death. We extend our sympathy for the loss of a fabulous man, father and husband. We will miss him.We shared stereo stories and wine and bourbon with Chris and he was a frequent and welcome guest in our home. We shall miss him and the warmth and friendship he brought.
