Norine Chader

Norine Elizabeth Chader went to be with our Lord on November 15th at 11:30 pm surrounded by loving family. Norine was 95 years old and is survived by four of her five children, Stephen Chader of Mesa, Ariz., Deborah Coad of Tampa, Fla., Christine Chader of Schoharie, and Elizabeth Chader of Schenectady, in addition to 12 grandchildren and fifteen great-grand-children. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Dr. Warren Chader and her second child, Martin Donald Chader. Norine was a Schenectady native born on July 31, 1926, to Kolin Donald Hager and Bernice Elizabeth Pease Hager. She was a graduate of Cornell University and served her community as a home-extension agent before engaging in the rewarding work of raising her five children. Norine devoted herself to her husband, children, and church and will be remembered as a dedicated, creative, and vivacious woman whose warmth and joy made everyone feel welcome. She was generous with her home, time, and talents as an excellent cook and homemaker. One of her greatest joys was to mentor women and teach the Bible. For a season, she was a featured speaker for Christian Woman's club in eastern New York. Her wisdom and love for God's word impacted many throughout her life. A celebration of Norine Chader's heavenly homecoming will be held at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1230 Rugby Road, Schenectady, N.Y. on Friday, November 19. Visitation will be held at 10:30 and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
