Wayne Wallace

POQUOSON - Wayne Wallace, 76, born May 11, 1938 to the late Mabel Jester and Oden Wallace, was called home to rest on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He grew up in Fox Hill, and after graduating from Hampton High School, married and moved to Poquoson. In 1959 Wayne began a 36 year career with C&P Telephone Co. and after retiring there, worked at Riverside Hospital in communications and finished his career with Langley AFB. Wayne is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Wanda Crawford Wallace; children, Cindy Wallace (Vangie) of Charlotte, NC, Johnny Wallace (Terri) of Poquoson, and Travis Wallace (Tommie) of Poquoson; and grandchildren, Gavin Wallace, Morgan Wallace, Graham Wallace, and Haylee Wallace. Wayne was a devoted, hard-working, and fun-loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, 7-8:30 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at the home. A Celebration of Wayne's life will be held Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at the funeral home by Chaplain David Lekarczyk. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery in Fox Hill (Hampton).
