Joe Botik Obituary

Joe Frank Botik, 88, died in Lubbock on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, following a lengthy illness.

Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 7 p.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Catholic Family Services, 102 Ave. J, Lubbock, Texas 79401, or American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd St., Lubbock, Texas 79411, or Christ the King Cathedral 4011 54th St., Lubbock Texas 79412.

Joe Botick was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Fort Worth, and graduated from high school in Fort Worth. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for 12 years. Joe attended night school at TCU and Texas Tech. He worked for Kimbell Milling Company in Fort Worth for two years and then Ralston Purina for 38 years as a purchasing agent, office manager and transportation manager. He married Evelyn Archer on Sept. 2, 1939, and moved to Lubbock in 1942.

Survivors: Wife, Evelyn; children, Phil Botik of Houston, Don Botik of Grapevine, Joe Botik III of Lago Vista, Kaye Richardson of Idalou, and Gwen Churchill of Austin; grandchildren, Kim Allison, Trent Allison, Shannon Boyd, Eric Churchill, Chris Albrecht, Greg Botik, Brian Botik, Jennifer Haglund, Erin Botik, Marc Botik, and Joseph Frank IV; and 12 great-grandchildren.
