Always a gentleman, although we disagreed from time to time. Alan knew his business and his abilities were vital to the smooth operation of the service. It's a shame he didn't get the chance to enjoy a long retirement.

I'm stunned by this news. I worked with Al at CAS. He was a great mentor, and we have learned a lot from him. My deepest sympathies to his family.

This makes me very sad. My respect for him was tremendous. Al and I played basketball together at Matamoras and Frontier. He was my ride to school and practice the first year at Frontier. One morning we had a flat driving to school. If we were late to school, we couldn't play or practice that day. I wish we could have had video of the "NASCAR" tire change we did that morning. The summer before that he "hired" me one day to work with him preparing a basement for the pouring of concrete. He said he'd pick me up in the morning, and "bring a bucket". When he pulled up, I jumped in with my bucket. He and Virgil laughed like crazy because I had a water bucket, not a lunch bucket. I'm so sorry for your lose. Hold those close to you, close.

To Al's family --
Please accept my condolences. I worked at CAS with Al and was always impressed with his knowledge of the subject matter, but I also enjoyed working with him because he was so easy-going and pleasant. May God comfort you and may Al rest in peace. May your many good memories overcome your sense of loss and replace the sorrow with gratitude as you look back on the special man that Al was.
Sincerely,
Fred Glasser
