Once again, I am feeling fortunate to have met Curt during my time as sports editor of the North Adams Transcript and he was basketball coach at Williams. He was a true pro in so many ways, on and off the court. I send my best to the Tong family and want to let them be aware Curt will always live in the hearts and minds of people who had the privilege of knowing him.

Of all the people I met as sports editor of the North Adams Transcript, Curt still has a special place in my pleasant memory department. He was always upbeat and obviously focused on doing the best job he could at any given task in the athletic world. I may have said all this before, but people like Curt makes me wish there were a few million more like him in this world. Curt and Williams College are among the first things I mention when people ask me about my sports writing days in western Massachusetts. Praise God for allowing our paths to cross.

Curt you were more then just a coach, tennis and basketball, but a good friend who taught me humility when we were on the squash court.

It was my honor to have known Curt when he was basketball coach at Williams and I was sports editor of the North Adams Transcript. He was always gracious and a true professional. It was with great sadness that I read his obituary today. I will always remember his upbeat personality and success as a coach. My sincere condolences to the family.

I was incredibly lucky to work with some wonderful people during my time with the Volvo International. Curt and Jinx were two of the best. I had no idea about Curt's incredible background and reading this I feel sad but amazed at all his accomplishments. I knew he had a good serve, but wasn't aware of his incredible service to so many. Thank you Curt.

Curt has been a special friend dating back to our college days at Otterbein in the late 50's where we were fraternity buddies. We kept in touch over the years with visits to their home outside Westerville and later in Williamstown,, MA and Claremont CA. Curt's personality was such that he made all folks feel special regardless of their station in life. He was a unique individual who never let his tremendous achievements take center stage.

I met him at Bexley High School, where he was helping boys figure out how to be men. I thank him for that, and for the other important work he did. He was a man's man in the most positive sense.
