Dans memory will never leave. His kind and gentle smile will always be seen.He was young His life had just begun..All of a sudden it was taken away.I didn't even get to say the things I wanted to say.
Only if God could see
How he could of turned out to be.I only hope he knows that no matter where in life I go I love him so much.
I never told him how much I cared or how much I enjoyed the things we shared...I will never forget the good times we had you where always there when I need you. I thank God that I had the chance to know you.You were always tryin to put a smile on someones face. You meant so much to all of us.You were special and that's no lie.Your smile alone warmed hearts.
You never know how much you Love that person,Until they are gone.I had to find out the hard way,And I regret never getting to say Good- Bye Someday we will meet again,
maybe not to day But we will meet again, until then, the Lord will take care of you. Dan your Safe in the arms of Jesus now.

To Dan's family:
We were truly sorry to hear of Dan's passing. We did not find out about his passing until the 10th of April. He truly was an amazing young man. He probably was the most polite young man I have seen in a long time. He dated our grandaughter for a short time, and I was always uplifted by his smile and polite domeaner.
My sympathy goes out to all of you. We do not always understand why the good are taken so young, but reading messages people have left he truly has touched a lot of lives. Your family will be in our prayers.

Cheryl - It's been decades since we've spoken, but we went K-12 together here in Worthington -- my name was Denardo then, not Brown. I read of Daniel's death, and my heart goes out to you. I have two sons of my own -- Steven Jr. who is 21 and Benjamin who is just a year older than your son. Cheryl, I can't imagine your pain, loss, and void, but please know you are in my prayers. I don't know if you're spiritual or have a faith. But I can tell you, during the darkest times of my life, during those life-altering losses of someone we hold so incredibly dear, I have gained comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone, we don't face trials alone, and that He goes before us. I remember during the losses of both my parent thinking that I couldn't get through the day...and so, I would get through the next minute, the one after that, and slowly, I could face five minutes, or 15, or an hour.
Please know - even though we've not seen nor spoken since those school days in the 60s and 70s, there is a bond shared by those of us who grew up together. I pray for your peace, your strength, and your comfort, Cheryl.

I met Dan at Kindercare. We were inseperable during my time there. Every memory I have of my younger years somehow involved him. He was the sweetest guy I'd ever met. I miss his hugs more and more everyday.

My sister assisted with taking care of Daniel at Riverside. I was so touched by his story and although I did not know him, the tragedy sticks in my mind. Then on Sunday at my church, St Joan of Arc,his name was mentioned requesting prayers for his family. From reading the other messages on here and on his my space he seemed like such a caring, compassionate individual. You do not see that in many 17 yr olds these days. Why does this happen to the good ones, he was so young .
To the family, I pray that you can find peace in knowing your son is in a better place and he is happy and watching over you.

Dan was always a nice person, he always went way out of his way for someone. He would always give and give, even if he never recieved anything in return. To him it was "no problem." To everyone else who looks back on just the littlest things he ever did, it means the world to them. I will never forget his warm hugs and generousity as long as I live. No one will ever replace him or his caring ways. My condolences to his family.
Love you forever Dan,

Our very deepest sympathy to Dan's family. Our son remembered Dan as one of his 6th grade buddies. I think that says a lot of what kind of young man Dan was when another kid remembers a 6th grade buddy. Our prayers our with your family.

Silcott Family,
Our deepest condolences in the loss of your dear son Daniel. Although we do not know him, we know that he is with His Saviour Jesus. We lost our daughter Becky at age 19 to cancer we pray that Becky and Daniel will become friends in heaven. If you should ever need someone to talk to who has experienced the death of a child please do not hesitate to contact me. Sue King is my dear dear friend and our prayers are with you at this time. Our son (age 13) said he didn't quite understand why God had to take his sister and then one evening at youth group during a prayer session he understood...his sisters job on earth was done as was Daniels. I can see that he has touched so many in his short time here. He was a very Special gift from God! God Bless you as you mourn and you will see Daniel again.

Dan was a great friend to me, he encouraged me to reach for the stars when it comes to football. Dan was the one who told me to go full go towards a football scholarship and ten after that the NFL. He didn't do this because he liked football but because he wanted to really encourage me and have me do what i'm truly good at. So Dan thanks for your friendship and your encouragement i'm really going to mis you and your giant bear hugs. R.I.P Daniel J. Silcott and enjoy an eternity in heaven with God the father. I'll mis you Dan

I am truley sorry for the loss of Daniel. As I was reading these personal testimonies about Daniel, John 16:20 was brought to my mind. "You will weep and mourn...you will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy." I did not know Daniel personally, but my son knew him through church. It seems Daniel gave a lot of joy and wonderful memories to everyone he met. May God give you peace and comfort at this time. Your family is in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of your loss; my prayers are with you.
Were all here on this earth for just a little while; whatever was Daniels purpose for being here; his job was finished and it was time for him to return home. That's one of the hardest things to understand! Trust God and one day you will meet again. In the meantime, the memories and pictures are there to give us the comfort we need along with God's grace.
God Bless,

The first time I met Daniel, I was taking him and my son to work at the Dublin Irish Festival. All he talked about was buying a kilt and the next day he did. He came home wearing it. From that day on when he would see me passing his line while I shoped at Krogers,Daniel always yelled over to me, "Hi Ms. Blevins". His heart was always like gold. He always made you laugh and brought you up when you was feeling down. His time here with us will be deeply missed. Now he is home with God and spreading all his love and joy with the angels.
