Danny Charles Stiltner passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2021 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dan was born on August 10 th , 1946, in Grundy, Virginia, to the late Jess Willard Stiltner and E. Kathleen (Pruett) Stiltner. His parents moved to Ohio in the early 1950s where he grew up in Sparta, Ohio. Dan graduated from Highland High School in 1964, Career Academy in 1967 earning a certification in Radio and Television Broadcasting, and Ohio State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. As a disc jockey, Dan broadcast his radio show on several stations in Ohio including WOSU in Columbus, WBTC in Uhrichsville, and WTNS FM in Coshocton. While he enjoyed radio broadcasting, his passion was writing. Dan wrote several books and published life-based articles in the Columbus Dispatch and Centerburg Gazette. He had a love of music, chess, and was also a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Dan suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and for the past 15 years he lived in the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he was well loved by the staff. He is preceded in death by his brother Roger Allen Stiltner and his parents Willard and Kathleen Stiltner. Dan is survived by his loving son Tory Matthew Stiltner who resides in Rittman, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother Ron Stiltner of Columbia City, Indiana, sister Kay (Stiltner) Hubbard of Cape Coral, Florida and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the caring and loving staff at Country Club Retirement Campus and John Hankins for caring for him for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Dan's memory to MS Society. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Bloomfield District Cemetery.
