James Edward Plessinger

Plessinger James "Jim" Edward Plessinger, of Columbus, OH, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his home in Upper Arlington with his wife at his bedside. He was 76 years old. He retired from teaching high school English in 1992 from Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York. A graduate of the Ohio State University, he was a lifelong buckeye who followed their football team with a passion and never missed a game. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was born November 12, 1936, and served his country in the Air Force as a Chinese translator in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cyril Elizabeth Plessinger, whom he married July 29, 1967; two loving sons, William Scott Plessinger of Columbus, OH and Jack Walter Plessinger of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Ella Jane Plessinger, Robert James Plessinger, Maya Bea Plessinger; and many other friends and relatives, including his loving dog, Angus. He is also survived by his younger brother, John of Mesquite, Nevada. The family will receive friends on Monday July 15, 2013 from 10 a.m.-12Noon, where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12Noon at the SHAW DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 4341 N.
