Mary Lou Oldaker, 90, of Columbus, passed away at Mt. Carmel East on September 2, 2018. She was born on June 8, 1928 in Columbus to the late Edgar and Roxie (Pennell) Oldaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth D. Oldaker. She is survived by her sister, Linda Baker; sister-in-law, Donna Oldaker; many nieces, nephews, who she loved a lot and enjoyed watching grow up; lifelong friends, Helen, and Marguerite. After graduation from Central High School, she worked for Ohio Bell for 33 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a long time member of Pioneers Club, an avid bowler for years, and traveled with her parents, nieces, and nephews. She was a devout member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and sent cards to those ill or having birthdays, and helped with the mailing of the Messenger. Her retirement years were spent at The Woodlands, where she played bingo, did crossword puzzles, and took day trips. A Celebration of Life will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2PM with one hour of visitation prior. Private inurnment at Union Cemetery will take place at a later date.
