One of the best and most influential teachers I had in my years at BMHS. One of those teachers you wonder years later....I wonder what he’s up to? You will be missed by more than you or your family can imagine. Rest easy Hoff and thank you!

Mr. Hofheimer, “Hoff”, was a precious gem of a teacher. From the arrangement of desks in a circle in his classes, to the timeless literature he exposed us to, and the nicknames he had for each of his students, he was a gift to anyone who was lucky enough to experience his witty character and warm personality. Rest In Peace to a favorite teacher whose lessons will never be forgotten!

What a lovely sweet soul of a man. He had a smile that could light up a room. He taught with such energy and passion. I will never forget him reading The Scarlet Ibis in Psychology and Literature :( or our TTW's. He made learning fun. RIP Hoff. You will be missed.

Both of my sons were in his class and I remember them coming home from school with so much enthusiasm because of Mr. Hoff. Years later I had the chance to thank him for all he instilled into them, and to let him know because of his love and guidance both of my sons were college graduates. I'll never forget his modesty. We lost a true educator and a beautiful human being. Love and prayers to his family.

You were amazing in every way. Thank you for putting up with me even tho I wasn’t in your class. I would come just to be with you during your Psychology in Literature class. I was the guy that would eat a bowl of cereal in front of you making a ruckus but you would just go with the flow. I was the one that interrupted your class to put on several movies to include into your everyday lectures. But through all that nonsense you were a good sport and an amazing, hilarious man. I will always remember our times together and will drink a glass of wine in some funny converse shoes in honor you. God speed, Hoff.

I will always be thankful that he was the one who brought me to Brien McMahon. He was a wonderful coworker and fantastic teachers. I can not imagine how much he gave to his students. Above all, I think the greatest lesson he taught was that it was alright to be yourself.

I will always have his picture in my mind when I think about my favorite teacher. He was a hippie in the late 70’s and so interesting and smart that I hope I am that intriguing to my students.

Hoff made students love English language and literature for at least a year, if not a lifetime. He had a perfect mixture of humanity, honesty, understanding and humor that was perfectly adapted to teach sometimes not so easy teens! He was truly one of those people that matter in a young person’s life and will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
One that I will always remember: I’m a kind of paranoiac in reverse. I suspect people of plotting to make me happy.
