Dear Wallace Family:
I was devastated today when I learned of Tony's passing. I grew up with Tony in Eastgate apartments. In fact, Tony lived just across the court from me. He was a great basketball player even in elementary school. He was also extremely handsome in elementary school--even with his chipped front tooth :-).
A couple of years ago when I was home for a visit, I spoke with Tony. It had been at least 35 years. He spoke lovingly of his wife, Ellen, and his family. Our conversation brought back so many memories of bygone days. Tony was a really great person.
My sincere condolences to his entire family--I am saddened but elated that Tony knew the Lord. I hope to see him again one day. God Bless you all and Peace be with you.
In sympathy and kindness,
James (Beanie) Bynum

To The Wallace Family:
Please know that you have my deepest sympathy. May you find comfort in knowing that he finished his race on this court and is now in the basketball court with God's Angels, playing a little ball, but the greatest pleasure he has discovered is resting in the arms of our Father.
I have known him for quite some time as a cheerleader, but more importantly as a friend. His presence will be missed, but the seeds of friendship that he nurtured through the years, will live a lifetime. God Bless.

To the Wallace Family,
May the grace of God be with you. Tony was a great person and friend. To lose Dave and Tony from our basketball family within a year is unbelievable and yet so believable due to their special lifetime relationship. I will always remember Tony as one of the best basketball player I have ever played with and against. At the end of the day, he was even a better person. God bless his family and the family from which he came because he will surely be missed and loved forever.

With our deepest sorrow in your lost, I had the opportunity of knowing Tony all the way back in Elementary school through High school. I knew him to being one of the fastest runner's during that time, however, he ran the race for which he will be with the creator for evermore. We will always miss the one's we love, but God loved him more, so the days to us might be sad; however, the joy in heaven is greater. We extend our prayers during this time.

I remember playing a lot of basketball with Tony on the playground of Eastgate Elementary School. I have a lot of very fond memories and a good friendship. He will be sorely missed.
To the Family: Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the death of Tony. I offer my prayers that you will find the strength to sustain you through your pain and sorrow.
Someone once said, upon the death of a loved one, “God finally caught his eye.”
Tony was God's good and faithful servant who was always active, deeply devoted, and sincere in every word and deed. God finally caught his eye and beckoned him home for a well-deserved, eternal rest.
May you find comfort in knowing that Tony now walks and talks with God.
The Family is in my prayers.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
