William Craine Obituary

CRAINE William J. "Bill" Craine born in Monongahela, PA August 7, 1923, died August 30, 2012 in Sun City, AZ. Bill's family moved to Central Ohio, where he graduated from North High School in 1941. He served in the US Army 10th Mountain Div. in Colorado and Italy during WWII from January 1942 until his Honorable Discharge December 1945. Employed with the A&P Tea Co. until April 1957. Attended Franklin University and Ohio State University. After 40 years in the insurance and security business he retired May 1997 and moved to Sun City, AZ. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Betty, who was the mother of their four children, Mary (Mike) Long, Connie (Paul) Davis, Kevin (Anita) and Kelly (Rosemary) Craine. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Kelley, Maggie, Brian, Abby, Jessica, Andrew and Mary Elizabeth. Bill is survived by his third wife, Katherine M. Also preceded in death by his second wife Leatrice and four brothers, Jim, Don, Tom and Jack. A member of St. Joachim and St. Anne Parish in Sun City. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery 9571 N. High St. (US 23 N). In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in his memory to The Ohio State University College of Business. Visit www.egan-ryan.com to send condolences.

I have fond memories of Mr. Craine from Boy Scout Troop 180 in Upper Arlington. He was a great guy and a true wizard at getting me to sell Christmas wrapping paper door-to-door. Bless you, Mr. Craine!!!!
