William "Bill" Joseph Meyers, age 90, of Upper Arlington, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. Bill was born on June 30, 1930, in Ashland, Kentucky, son of the late John and Altha (Clinton) Meyers. Professor Emeritus at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and former Chairman of the Endodontic Department who had a lifelong passion for teaching and a genuine love of his students. In 2005, he was awarded the I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award by the American Association of Endodontists. He attended the University of Kentucky, Marshall University, the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, the University of Miami (FL) where he earned his Master's in Education and obtained his Certificate in Endodontics at the V.A. Hospital in Miami, Fl. Bill was a Professor of Dentistry at the University of Louisville who held titles including Acting Dean, Associate Dean for Clinical Health Science Education and Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs prior to the move to Florida. Former member American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Columbus Dental Society, Ohio Association of Endodontists and Dental Assisting National Board. A dedicated Buckeye football and basketball fan, he attended decades of games. Bill enjoyed roses, but anything with flowers was of interest. He loved to travel and his dental association meetings took him around the country. Bill's paradise was Siesta Key, Florida. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth Meyers. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Amy Meyers; brother, John David (Ann) Meyers; special nephews, H. Michael Czeskleba, Scott Czeskleba and James Berger and loving family friend, Debbie Vagnier. Special love and thanks to guardian angel Isabella Kesse. Her love, kindness, compassion, selflessness and dedication will never be forgotten. If you see a turtle sitting on a fencepost, you know he didn't get there by himself. Interment took place at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio on March 12, 2021. A special thank you to all the wonderful people at Comfort Keepers and Ohio Health Hospice.
