Gary C. Hoffmann Sr.

Gary Charles Hoffmann Sr., 71, Washington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 in Washington.

Gary, son of the late Harvey Hoffmann and wife Opal, nee Englert, was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Washington. He graduated from Washington High School in 1964. On June 3, 1967, Gary was united in marriage to Miss Donna Altemueller, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington. In 1968, Gary received his bachelor's degree from St. Louis University. Gary worked several years at Hazel Inc. as a senior executive; was a vice president at Burns Biotech; was an entrepreneur whose many ventures included "Nitro Cola"; worked at Elmwood Golf Course and Elmwood Racquetball Club, both in Washington; and Hoffmann & Associates, an international business consulting firm. Gary enjoyed coaching youth basketball his way, known as Hoffyball - "bust-it!" He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington.

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna, Washington; three children, Jyoti Conradi, San Diego, Calif., Sarah Wendt and husband Michael, Clayton, and Gary Hoffmann Jr., Washington; eight grandchildren; one brother, David Hoffmann and wife Jeri, Winnetka, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Rich Altemueller, Washington; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington, with the Rev. Jim Theby officiating.

Memorials may be given to Loving Hearts Outreach or Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
