I had Dan in a class in grade school when they combined 1st graders (me) and 2nd graders (Dan) in one class at Linden East. For some reason, he spoke that entire year in a British accent, and for years after I thought Dan was from overseas. Lol. He was a nice kid even back then. :)

I was truly sad to hear the news. He touched many lives and will continue to touch us through our fond memories. My warmest thoughts and prayers are with you.

I not only had the privlege of knowing Dan, but working with him when he was a councilman and the Mayor of Gladstone. He was fervent in his beliefs and he was strong in his convictions. He was refreshing because he looked at Gladstone in a new way. He appreciated the people of the community and he worked for them. His life was short but his legacy is long. My sincere sympathy to you, Leslie, Ben and Luke in this very difficult time.

When I visited the State Capitol, my son, a labor union lobbyist, was anxious to introduce me to Dan because he thought so highly of him. Indeed, I could see why. He showed genuine interest in meeting me and radiated warmth and wisdom. Missouri has suffered a great loss.
