William "Bill" Meyer, 92, of Rural Valley, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Grey's Colonial Acres.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1928, to Orman and Mabel (Miller) Meyer in Rural Valley .
William grew up on the family farm in Blanco. He served in the U.S. Army in Berlin, from December 1951 until his honorable discharge to the Reserves in November 1953. William retired from Peoples Gas in November 1989, after 32 years of service. He was proud of his strong work ethic. One of his favorite sayings was "A good days work never hurt anybody." He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He could always be seen on the porch swing waving to travelers passing by. He was active in the Blanco Grange and his Church, Gastown United Church of Christ. He was adamant that a man's days on earth are determined by the Creator God. Rest in peace, William, Rest in Peace.
