Barbara T. Boris (nee Tellugen), 76, of Beverly Shores passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. She was born Feb. 17, 1949, in Trondheim, Norway, to the late Claus and Birgit (Larsen) Tellugen.
On June 15, 1973, she married the love of her life, Terence Boris, who preceded her in death in 2009. Survivors include their daughters, Britt (Paul) LaBerge of Porter, Indiana, and Kirsten (Hunter) White of Brightwood, Oregon; granddaughter, Lily LaBerge; cousins, Kirsten and Bjarne Arnesen of Kopervik, Norway, and Tordis Ree of Stavanger, Norway; and many loving friends.
Barbara was a graduate of Elston High School, and received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's degree from Boston University. She was an English teacher at Elston High School before having her daughters, when she became a homemaker.
Barbara loved nature and the beach of Beverly Shores, where she lived for more than 60 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, visiting and spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, avid gardener, and lifelong animal lover.
Memorial donations may be made to the Michiana Humane Society. A private family celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date. Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso has been entrusted with arrangements.

Yesterday
Barbara and Terry were my daughter's Godparents. I probably met Barb when she was in Jr. High School, having known Terry through Little League Baseball (Big Hank Aaron fan). We double dated regularly in High School and every girl I dated was impressed that I knew Barb. We remained lifelong friends. I saw her last during a Class Reunion trip when she was in a nursing home in Chesterton couple of years ago.
She was, put most simply, the nicest lady I've ever met. She determined early who she was going to marry, and where they were going to live, and while most of us have fantasies of such things, she simply made them happen.
Barbara was bright, raised beautiful children, had a great sense of humor and filled every definition of being a good friend.
Our world is diminished by her absence but so enhanced by the times we had together.
