Send FlowersDavid Carl La Mar (better known as Dave to many friends and family members), 62, formerly of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on July 17, 2025, in Adams, Wisconsin, with his family and loved ones.
Dave was born to Robert La Mar and Valerie (Ekendahl) La Mar on Nov. 8, 1962, in Michigan City, Indiana. Dave grew up in Michigan City, Indiana, and graduated from Michigan City High School. Throughout Dave's life he enjoyed many things, including maintenance work, fishing, canoeing, a cold beer, and spending time with friends and family. Dave was always a kind person and would give his last dollar to a stranger if they needed it.
Dave was a devoted employee to the Michigan City Housing Authority for more than 20 years. He took great pride in his work, and cherished all of the friends and family he made throughout the years of working there.
Dave is survived by his three brothers, Duane La Mar, Maxwell La Mar and David Gasaway; his two children, Kyle (Julia) La Mar and Jessica (Eric) Neiman; former wife, Corrine Holm; his nephews, Josh La Mar and Braeden La Mar; and his grandchildren, Michael Wogoman, Ryan Napier, Matthew Napier and George Neiman. He is also survived by his stepmother, Lula La Mar; and many other cousins, aunts and uncles in the Wisconsin and northern Indiana area.
Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Maxwell La Mar II; father, Robert La Mar; and mother, Valerie (Ekendahl) La Mar.
Please join us for a celebration of life to honor Dave La Mar. We will gather together on Sept. 20, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. (CDT) at Creek Ridge County Park's Prairie Shelter, to remember our wonderful friend who will be greatly missed. Address: 7943 W. 400 North, Michigan City, IN 46360.

I call him magaiver, because there was no question I have about maintenance that he could not work me through.
I learnt a lot from him, even when he moved to Wisconsin he still help me out about key cutting.
I will miss him.

Dave was my best friend we worked together at the Michigan City housing authority we spend numerous hours together working camping and vacationing together, Dave was a great person. He helped me build my first home and he was an answer to my prayer at the Housing Authority. I´m gonna miss my buddy dearly. He was a great guy.
