Donn R. Odle, 80, passed away April 19, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1941, in Mishawaka to Rupert H. and Mary (Hendrickson) Odle Lee.
Donn graduated from La Porte High School before attending Augustana College and Indiana University. He earned a B.A. in Biology and an M.S. in Student Personnel Administration.
He taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics for four years at La Lumiere School. Donn started work at Miles Laboratories (Bayer) in 1973 and worked in International Quality Assurance until his retirement. His work included travel to parts of the world such as Australia, Italy, Japan and Wales.
Donn was an artist and wood carver, and created many beautiful pieces and illustrations. He enjoyed working outside and was a Master Gardener. He was also a wonderful cook who loved to experiment.
Donn is survived by his wife, Sue (Canfield) Odle; two children, Jennifer (Tim) Nussbaum of Broomfield, Colorado, and David Odle of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Lily and Rosemary Nussbaum; and siblings, Linda (Bob) Nawrocki and Steve Odle, both of La Porte.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Lewis) Odle in 1996.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28 from 2 p.m. until the 3:30 p.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor William Bufton will officiate.
Memorial donations may be directed to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
