Gary M. McCammon passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 13, 2021. He left this world exactly as he would have wanted, swiftly and on his way to dinner and drinks.
Gary started his lifelong adventure in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Chicago in his 20s to pursue his career in medical malpractice insurance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hazel McCammon. He is survived by his loving partner, Cam Conlon; brothers, Steve (Connie) and Jeff (Michelle): nieces and nephews, Adam, Max, Brittany, Christian, Roger, Catherine, William and many other nieces and nephews who knew him affectionately as, "Uncle Gary"; godfather to Patrick Montero and Owen Bartosik.
Gary lived his life to the fullest and was an avid fan of good food, flowing drinks, landscaping his Long Beach yard and especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Gary was a man of few words but monumental action, as Bill Shakespeare said, "Men of few words are the best men." He will be missed tremendously both personally and professionally.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, located at 3918 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at Cooney Funeral Home. Interment private.

I just got word of Gary's passing today. How sad for all of us as he brought so much love of life to the party. My husband and I were good friends with Gary and Teresa many years ago and needless to say many many dinner parties fell under the umbrella of our friendship. That cute little smile with that glint in his eyes said it all. He never had to say much he just had to look at you and you knew.
May God bless your soul Gary! Condolences to the family from Old Friends Tom and Cathy
