Wayne J. Orzech, 86, of Demotte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1939, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Joseph and Lorraine (Nawrocki) Orzech. Wayne was a long-time resident of Demotte, Indiana, where he built a house and a home with his wife of 65 years, Patricia C. (Rymer) Orzech. Wayne and Patricia fell in love and were married on April 8, 1961, at Sacred Heart Church in La Porte, Indiana.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Ave., La Porte, 219-362-2722.
A Vigil will be held at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 201 Bach St., La Porte.
Family and friends may gather on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home prior to the Mass.
Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.
