Martha Stocker Obituary

Martha Jean "Jeanne" Morton Stocker departed this life on April 27, 2023 at the age of
77 years.

Jeanne was born September 1, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee to Laurence Victor and
Lura (Stout) Morton. She grew up in Manchester (St. Louis County), Missouri and
attended Parkway High School and William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri
graduating with an A.A. Business Degree.

Jeanne was united in marriage to Bradley Cotton Stocker on June 3, 1967 and
together they have two daughters, Allyson and Lauren, and 3 grandchildren, Aydan
Kennedy, Ella And Emma Helmuth.
Jeanne worked in the business field for several companies, including, American
Smelting and Refining, Ramada Inn offices, Digital Equipment Corp, in Tucson and
Scottsdale, Arizona, and supported Brad while he finished his degree at the University
of Arizona, following his service in the Army.

Jeanne And Brad owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Marshfield and
after closing the store Jeanne spent 21 years working for the Marshfield schools
central office, where she retired.
Jeanne and Brad attended church at the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in
Marshfield, and after moving to Springfield, Jeanne and Brad were active with
Schweitzer Church where she enjoyed participation in the "Navigators" Sunday group
and the many, many friendships she discovered there.

Jeanne was a "Job's Daughter", a member and past president of Beta Sigma Phi
business sorority, a member and past president of PEO Chapter CL in Marshfield, and a
member Southwest Missouri Museum Associates. She had a host of friends and
enjoyed sharing dinner parties, Bridge and Bunco games and many lunches and trips
with friends and family over the years.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry. She is survived by
husband Bradley C. Stocker, daughters Allyson Ross Kennedy (Ozark, MO) and Lauren
Jean Helmuth (Kavan) (Springfield, MO); three grandchildren Aydan Stocker Kennedy,
Ella Jean Diane Helmuth and Emma Ryan Bren Helmuth.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m Friday, May 19th at Schwitzer Church 2747 E. Sunshine St., Springfield, MO. All friends and family will be welcome.
Her favorite charities were St. Jude, Convoy of Hope and The Schweitzer Church
"Flourish" Program, however she suggested any memorials be made to the charity of
choice.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Jeanne was a wonderful woman. I took her place, although never filled her shoes, at the Marshfield School District but really got the joy of knowing her through PEO. She will be greatly missed. I pray for God's hand of peace over you all as you go through the grieving process.
