Kenneth Smith Obituary

Kenneth A. Smith, age 57, of Clayton, NJ, formerly of Emmaus, PA, passed away on August 6, 2023 after a long illness. After a diagnosis of idiopathic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer in November 2019, Ken participated in a clinical trial through Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan. The trial allowed him to attend the weddings of his three daughters, travel domestically and internationally, and have as close to a normal life as possible for two and a half years. His hope was that the data collected during the trial would benefit other patients diagnosed with idiopathic Stage 4 lung cancer.

Ken was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Emmaus PA, Dickinson College in Carlisle PA, where he earned a BS in Physics, and Ohio State University where he earned his MHA. He spent over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as a Senior National Account Director for Ferring Pharmaceuticals in Parsippany, NJ. Over the course of his career he was awarded numerous accolades. He enjoyed sharing his business knowledge and mentoring new hires.

Ken traveled extensively with his wife of 33 years, Jennifer Tredinnick Smith. He particularly enjoyed driving through Ireland and the French and Italian countryside. In his spare time he liked house projects, watching movies and fixing anything mechanical. Ken was known to be friendly, ethical, knowledgeable and genuine. He was well respected at work and was an all around "good guy". He provided an extraordinary life for his family, and was immeasurably proud of his daughters.

Along with his wife Jennifer, Ken is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria Smith (Dr. Erik Blumberg) of New Hope, PA, Dr. Madeleine Smith (Dr. Ashwin Reddi) of Washington DC, and Caroline Smith (Mitchell Fennell) of Ashland, OR. In addition he is survived by sisters Joan Cramer and Barbara Smith of Coronado, CA and Paula Smith Krajsa (Peter Krajsa) of Allentown, PA. Ken is also survived by his brother Christopher Smith (Jan Smith) of Pittstown NJ. He has one sister-in-law, Maria Zuccarino of Sewell, NJ. Ken has 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Services were private. A reception in Ken's name will be held at Brookside Country Club, Macungie PA, on Saturday, August 12 at 1:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Dr., Clayton NJ 08312 or to CancerCare.org.

To Jennifer, the girls and Ken´s family. I worked with Ken at Endo, I moved into a market access role in 2010. I quickly realized that I could learn a lot from Ken. His knowledge was best in class and in typical Ken fashion he was always willing to help me, teach me and mentor me. Ken was always so kind and genuine and was highly respected by all. My condolences for your loss, a great man gone too soon.
Respectfully,
Brent
