Alma Jeanne Blank, 96, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Jeanne, as she was known, was born on February 3, 1929, in Minden, Iowa, to Emil and Linda Danker. She was a resourceful Iowa farm girl, skilled in cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, and horse riding. She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, and friend, described as a nurturing mother and "Gma" to her family.
Her adventurous life led her to California, Arizona, Las Vegas (where she rode motorcycles in the same group as Elvis Presley), and Chicago, before settling in the South Bend/Granger area. She made her home there with her beloved husband, Howard E.H. Blank, whom she married in 1960. Howard preceded her in death on February 26, 2009.
She is survived by her children: Cindy Jacobs of Phoenix, AZ; Harold (MaryLou) Blank of Scottville, MI; Kirk (Monica) Blank of Granger, IN; and Kevin Blank of Granger, IN. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Kaven of Phoenix, AZ.
Jeanne's legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren: Kyle, Mitch, Kelly, Morgan, Tiffany, Gregory, Stacey, Eric, Valerie, Valentino, Veronica, Rodney Jr., David, and Masie. In addition are 18 great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. Her gentle spirit and enduring strength left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July, 25, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
