Aaron Lee Jones, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Ashton Place. He was born in Alamance County on September 16, 1946 to the late Aumon Lee Jones and Ruth Gladys Murray Jones and was the husband of 59 years to Hilda Pat Jones who passed away on August 8, 2024.

He retired from the City of Burlington with 25 years of service as a mechanic. While working at the City of Burlington, he did plumbing in his spare time. After retirement he maintained local farmers equipment. In his earlier years, he enjoyed raising beagles, hunting, fishing, and being a volunteer fireman. He also enjoyed working on go-karts and attending the races. In later years, he enjoyed wood working.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the kind women who help take care of daddy, Wendy McCollum, Ava Wilson, Pamela Lynn, Valora Stephens, Deirdre Claybrooks. Also, many thanks to DeAundra, Katie, Natasha and Bintou at Ashton Place.

He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Farrell (Mark), Christina Edwards (Joey); grandchildren, Jamie Farrell, Joe Edwards, Lauren Farrell, and Emily Edwards. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother, James Jones.

A service to celebrate Aaron’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens with the burial to follow at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at his daughter Laurie’s residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice of Greensboro), 2504 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
