Adam Lee Schwaller passed away recently after battling mental illness throughout his adult life. Adam was born on February 26, 1987, a dearly loved son of Tammy Backhaus and Michael Schwaller.

He was a kind-hearted person who liked spending time with his nieces and nephew. He had a gentle spirit and appreciated spending time in the outdoors. Adam enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking and playing sports such as soccer and volleyball.

Adam graduated from Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School and then continued his education and graduated from UW Green Bay with a degree in Business Administration. Adam was a self-employed skilled tradesman specifically in tile work and flooring.

He is survived by: his parents, Tammy Backhaus and Mike Schwaller (Kathy); two brothers, Brian Schwaller (special friend Shannon) and Brent Schwaller; sister, Amy Breit (Travis); nephew, Landon Schwaller; two nieces, Deanna Schwaller and Kaylyn D'Angelo; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sharlene Karnitz, Levi and Lois Backhaus, Merlin and Dorothy Schwaller, and his uncle, Neal Schwaller.

A celebration of life for Adam will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Kohler Center for Marsh Education, W7113 Cty Rd S R, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin 53020. Adam will be laid to rest at the Greenbush Cemetery, Greenbush, WI following a private service.

A memorial fund is being established for a memorial bench that will be placed in nature where he found the most enjoyment.
