Adelina "Nina" Modugno

Adelina "Nina" Modugno, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Nina made Bellmawr, New Jersey her home for over 43 years. She dedicated her career to public service, working for the State of New Jersey Racing Commission as Supervisor of Operations until her retirement in 2017. She also co-operated Ocean West Limousine Company with her devoted companion of 41 years, Joseph Angelastro. Nina's warmth and generosity extended far beyond her professional life. She devoted countless hours to Little Learning Academy, where she became affectionately known as "Nana." Her presence was a constant source of joy and comfort, and she never missed a single activity or celebration.
A woman of deep faith, Nina was a devoted member of St. Joachim Parish in Bellmawr. Her commitment to the Catholic Church was unwavering and she attended Mass wherever she was, whether vacationing in Las Vegas or relaxing at the shore.
Nina had a special love for animals and an even deeper love for her family, who meant everything to her. She was preceded in death by her beloved companion Joseph Angelastro, her parents Jeannette Peters Crawford and Frank Modugno, and her brothers Joseph Modugno and Frankie Modugno.
She is survived by her children Debbie and her husband Domenic Zupito, Donna Gallagher and her husband Jeff, and Jean Claude Le Du and his wife Helen; her stepmother Sondra Modugno; her cherished grandchildren Jillian Adelina Zupito, Valerie Anne Le Du, Tyler Strasser, DJ (Claire) Strasser; Domenic Zupito Jr. and the grandchildren of the late Joseph Angelastro. Nina also leaves behind her cousins Joanne and Rosemary, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Avenue, Woodbury, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 605 W. Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031. Interment will take place at New St. Mary's Cemetery. In honor of Nina's love for animals, those desiring may make a contribution in her memory to Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, 125 County House Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012.
