Adella Rae M. Smith, 77 of Center Township a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on August 26, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born in Rochester, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles W. and Eleanor Fishlock. Adella Rae was predeceased by her devoted husband of 42 years, Arthur Wayne Smith, who passed away on November 21, 2022. Adella Rae was a proud mother to her son, Gregory (Christine) Smith, and daughter, Candace Cheyenne Smith. She also embraced her role as a caring stepmother to Jeff (Nicola) Smith, Mona Smith, and Angelina McCauley. Adella Rae was a cherished sister to Shyrl (Herb) Hyland and adored aunt to her nieces, Danielle (James) Richards and Alexandra Hyland. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Aliquippa High School, Adella Rae continued her education by attending nursing school. However, she found her calling at U.S. Airways, where she worked for many years as a records clerk. Adella Rae later brought her warmth and friendly demeanor to the Monaca Walmart, where she worked as a beloved greeter.
Adella's interests were as varied. She was an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a captivating book. Her nimble fingers were rarely idle, as she loved sewing and knitting, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones and her home. Adella Rae was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Township.
Private family burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell township.
Burial arrangements have been entrusted to SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, Monaca 724 728 4000.
