Agnes M. Calabria

Agnes M. Calabria, 92, of Mashpee, passed away on July 29, 2025, at Royal of Cotuit Nursing Home, in Mashpee. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter J. Calabria, with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

Agnes was born on December 18, 1932 in Weymouth, MA to the late Waldo and Barbara (Gerrold) Tirrell. Agnes met the love of her life, Peter, at a roller-skating rink where he affectionately told friends and family, she picked him up… after falling. The two married and raised their family in Maynard, MA. In 1993, the couple retired to Cape Cod.

Agnes and her husband Peter enjoyed socializing with their friends and belonged to the Capers of Cape Cod, a social club for those 55 years and older, for many years. The two even shared the role of co-presidents of the club for a few years. In addition to the Capers, Agnes loved to play bingo with her friends, and enjoyed doing craft projects, particularly plastic canvas projects, especially for holiday gifts. More than anything, Agnes adored her family and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Agnes is survived by her son Peter Calabria, Jr., of Berlin, MA; her daughter, Tina Calabria, of Laconia, NH; her four granddaughters, Dannika, Bethany, Maya, and Hayden; her five great grandchildren; her brother Edward Tirrell, of Swansea, MA; her sister-in-law Linda Ostrowski, and her husband Mark; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), in Mashpee. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Agnes will be laid to rest with her husband Peter at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:30 PM.
