Douglas- Alan A. Boucher, passed away at UMass Memorial Hospital University Campus on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the age of 69 after a period of declining health.
Alan is survived by his wife Linda (D'Alfonso) Boucher of 46 years; his two sons, Andrew Boucher of North Syracuse, NY and Daniel Boucher and his wife Jill (Mason) Boucher, and their two daughters, Emma and Sophie of Charlton. He is also survived by his sister Cynthia Wedekind and her husband Robert of Riverside, RI, and his brother Rene Boucher and his wife Tammy of Douglas. Alan also leaves 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great-nephews, and 3 great-nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. Boucher and Claudette (Gauthier) Boucher.
Alan was born on June 10, 1956 in Woonsocket, RI, and grew up in Uxbridge. He was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Regional Technical High School where he specialized in Graphic Arts. Al worked for many years in the printing industry, and was previously employed with The Milford Daily News, Metrowest Daily News, Heinrich Ceramic Decal, and a local community newspaper company before retirement.
He enjoyed outdoor activities such as kayaking, bike riding, taking walks, and growing tomato and pepper plants. Al loved cooking, entertaining, and was a big "foodie". He also enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and friends. He loved babysitting his two granddaughters and was looking forward to taking them for ice cream. When his sons were younger, he volunteered with the Boy Scouts as a Scout Leader.
Calling hours will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Sun. July 6th from 4-7 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 7th at 10AM in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug Douglas. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Uxbridge. Donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Douglas Food Pantry at St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug Street, Douglas, MA 01516.
