Age 73, of Morris, Illinois died on June 6, 2025 at Morris Hospital.
Born on June 29, 1951 in Morris, Alan Lee was a son of Donald and Gladys (Johnson) Parker. He was raised and educated in Morris and graduated Morris high school with the class of 1969. He married Beverly McClintock on September 8, 1973, at the Plattville Lutheran Church, in Plattville, Illinois where the two of them began their lives together. A self-taught electrical engineer, he worked with various contractors before finding long-term roles at Raytheon and later ComEd, where he served with dedication for over 18 years before retiring. Even after retirement, Alan wasn’t one to sit still and he took on the job of mowing the grass at the Morris Country Club.
A lifetime member of the Morris Country Club, he spent countless hours on the course, often golfing daily. He participated in many golf outings, and took first place during a Morris Country Club Invitational. He had a passion for snow skiing and even skydiving with friends. Alan was a devoted family man who deeply valued time spent with loved ones. Known for his dry wit and sarcastic sense of humor, he was someone you could always count on. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his pets, who were cherished companions.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; brother, Brent (Tari) Parker; in laws: Cheryle (Dale) Wills, Terry McClintock, Wayne (Carla) McClintock, Lori (Jeff) Kaldheim; nieces and nephews: Tiffany Her, Jacob (Kristen) Russell, Kristy (Mark) Kline, Brittany (John) Riley, Chad (Roni) McClintock, Meaghan (Keith) Jorstad, Nathan (Lauren) Kaldheim, Lindsey (Justin) Kerr, Addison Kaldheim, Jenni (Brad) Clodi, Chris (Mandi) Shoup, David (Sherry) Shoup; great nieces and nephews: Braeden Olson, Preston and Hadlee Kerr, Will Kaldheim, Brett, Emily, Nicholas, Milo, and Maddy Russell, Chace, Blakely, Reece, Ashton, Ava, and Johnathon Riley, Dak and Wylder McClintock; special cousins, Gail (Dennis) Fritz along with many others; furry companion, Paisley.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; in laws: Merle and Deloris McClintock, Elaine McClintock, and Gordon McClintock.
The family will receive friends at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson Street in Morris on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Lohse will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded at the conclusion of the services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Alan's name to the American Lung Association or any animal shelter.
Funeral Services and cremation arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves, Fruland, & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory (815/942-0700).
