Albert Wesley Driver, Sr., 79 of Jackson Township passed away peacefully while surrounded by all his family, on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in Neptune Township.
Al was born on January 8th, 1943, in Abington, Pennsylvania to the late Albert "Pewee" Paul Driver and Julia Myrtle Driver. He was raised in Germantown, Pennsylvania and then lived in Marlboro Township prior to moving to Jackson Township 26 years ago. Secularly, Al was a Network Engineer for Control Data, Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC), Compaq and then finally Hewlett Packard, retiring several years ago. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran. During Al's youth, he was periodically exposed to Jehovah's Witnesses by close family members. As an adult, he eventually took to seriously studying with them, culminating in his baptism on September 14th, 1985 at the Stanley Theatre in Jersey City. Al had a strong taste for biblical truths that fueled him until the day he died. He loved sharing what he had learned from the bible with others. He spent many hours in the public ministry, especially in the local Jail. Al was a volunteer at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute, Freehold. He aided many to come to know his God Jehovah, including his three children. Over the last 40 years he attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Freehold and then finally Jackson Township. Over the years Al was able to enjoy many privileges of service, including serving as a Ministerial Servant and Elder, being a Watchtower Study conductor, giving Circuit Assembly parts and coordinating food arrangements for the pioneer schools and Kingdom Hall construction projects.
Al is survived by his wife, Pauline "Peanut" E. Driver; two sons, Albert Wesley Driver, Jr. and his wife, Sherry Ann, Freehold, New Jersey; Aaron Lance Driver and his wife Elyse, Wall Township, New Jersey; his daughter, Tasha Monique Richardson and her husband Eric, Frederick, Maryland; one step-son Jonathan Paterno; and six grandchildren, Ethan, Joshua and Brianna Driver, Mia Driver, and Brandon and Bryce Richardson. Also, many brothers and sisters in-laws; nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and a host of cousins and intimate close friends.
Stories about Al Driver Sr. are too numerous to recount. He made all who he came in contact with laugh. Everyone who knew Al, knows that while being a very outgoing, and comical individual, he also took his faith in Jehovah God very seriously. He did all he could for Jehovah until his last breath, and lived a life of dedication worth imitating. He will be sorely missed, but we look forward to seeing him one day again soon in the new world.
