Albert "Wayne" Forrest, 88, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 in his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great uncle.
Wayne graduated from Lamar High School and then went on to University of Houston, earning a BA Degree in Music.
Wayne married Judy Dailey Forrest on July 19, 1958 and enjoyed over 66 years of marriage together in the Houston area. They delighted in each other's company and were a steadfast example to their three children and eight grandchildren.
Wayne started his music career singing on local and national TV programs. He also toured with Jan Garber's orchestra. Wayne spent many years teaching band and music in several schools including St. Laurence Catholic School. He also had countless private music students.
Wayne especially loved animals, always having a furry companion in his home. He had an affinity for old westerns and a deep appreciation for quality music. He shared his vocal talents with his family and community throughout the years. Wayne was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, having converted from the Baptist faith. He had a deep love for our Lord and served in the music ministry at St. Theresa's and then St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Churches in Sugar Land for many years. Wayne enjoyed time with family and would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He delighted in connecting with others, especially about historical events, movie trivia and football.
Remaining to cherish Wayne's memory are his wife, Judith Dailey Forrest and his three children; his daughters Linda and husband Robert Schurman, Leslie Annicchiarico, and his son David Forrest and wife Gaby; grandchildren, Tara Payton, Keenan Annicchiarico, Adrian Annicchiarico, Francesca Annicchiarico, Eamonn Forrest, Ethan Forrest, Evan Forrest, and Chloe Forrest. Preceding Wayne in death were his parents Albert and Lucille Forrest.
Graveside Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18th at Davis Green Lawn Cemetery at 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. Rosenberg TX 77471 with Father Richard Hinkley officiating. Memorial donations in Wayne's memory may be directed to Houston Humane Society, at https://www.houstonhumane.org/?form=WayneForrest
