TROY - Albert Nicholas Giamei Sr passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2021, at the Eddy Heritage House. He was born on April 13th, 1928 in Troy, N.Y., the son of Angelo and Ermelinda Giamei.
Albert graduated from Lansingburgh High School and the University of Maryland with a BS in Business. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army (1952-1954) during the Korean War. After the war, he married his beloved wife, Adeline Forte and were together for more than 65 years. Albert ran the Shamrock Grill, down along the Hudson River in Lansingburgh for 16 years, where "Good times were had by all that stopped by". Al was also employed by Gardenway Manufacturing for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Adeline (Forte) Giamei, and sister Grace (Frederick) Garrett. Surviving are his daughters Paula (Joe) Stopera, Linda (Bill McGurn) Bendon, Kristie (Eric Turk) Giamei and his son, Albert N (Jacqueline) Giamei Jr. He is also survived by his 5 Grandchildren, Nicole (Brian) Geary, Danielle Stopera, Shelby and Anthony Giamei and Kelsey McGurn. 3 Great Grandchildren in Ella, Sydney and Ethan Geary.
Albert is also survived by a special nephew in Dr. Robert Garrett and his wife Donna of Port Charlotte, Fla., along with a late nephew, William Garrett of Baltimore, MD.
We would like to offer special thank you to the Eddy Heritage House Nursing Home and Hospice for the loving, long-term care Al received during his time there.
Al will be laid to rest in Saratoga National Cemetery, with his lovely wife Adeline, in a private service and burial. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
