Albert J. “Jim” LaDuke, 91, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025. Born on September 23, 1933 in Standish, NY, Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose steady kindness and quiet humor touched everyone who knew him.
Jim is survived by his son, James LaDuke and his wife Mary, and grandson James M. LaDuke Jr., all of Dannemora, NY; his daughter, Janine (LaDuke) Dodd and her husband Calvin Dodd, and grandson Alexander Dodd, all of Atlanta, GA; and his brother, Carl LaDuke of Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert J. LaDuke Sr. and Rose (LaFountain) LaDuke, and by his siblings Grace (LaDuke) Berliner, Leon LaDuke, Raymond LaDuke, Clayton LaDuke, and Emmett LaDuke.
A man of simple pleasures and loyal passions, Jim loved dining out with his family, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, and spending evenings at Airborne Speedway taking in the stock car races. He also took great delight in his scratch-off lottery tickets, finding joy in life’s small surprises.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Dannemora, NY. Interment will follow immediately at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Lyon Mountain, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Jim by sharing a favorite memory, enjoying a meal with loved ones, buying a scratch off or taking in a ballgame—just as he would have liked.
