Albert W. "Jack" Scott, age 86, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on June 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Upland, PA to the late Albert D. and Mary (Jester) Scott. Jack was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. He lived in Linwood, PA for 32 years before settling in Boothwyn for the past 25 years. A graduate of Chichester High School, Class of 1956 where he participated in band and school plays. Jack began his career with Ford Motor Company as a Certified Parts Manager, working for Myers Ford, Rice & Holman, and Bayshore Ford for over 55 years. Jack received his Kensworth Training Course award in 1985 in Seattle, Washington. In 1988 Jack received his 10 year Anniversary award from Bayshore Ford.
Jack attended Linwood Methodist Church, where as a youth he was a Choir Boy. He also attended Memorial Presbyterian of Boothwyn, and was an associate member of the Atonement Methodist Church of Claymont, DE. At age 18, he joined the Lower Chichester Fire Company, where he remained a dedicated, active member throughout his adult life before receiving his Life Membership. Until his passing, Jack was the oldest living member of the fire company. Jack held multiple positions throughout his tenure at the firehouse including Engineer, Treasurer, Ambulance Driver, CPR Instructor, and Bingo Chairman. Jack enjoyed the time he was able to serve the community with both his boys.
He will be forever remembered for his kind & loving ways. He was always giving a helping hand and his sense of humor will forever make us smile. Jack was always positive in his Faith. Jack received many awards during his time at Lower Chichester Fire Co. In 1983 he was presented the Presidential Award in appreciation for outstanding cooperation and dedication. In 1988 he was awarded the Prestigious John T Lamplugh award for outstanding service and devotion. In 1991 he received his 35 years of service award, and in 2015 he received his 58 years of service award. Jack was proud to serve his community. Jack was also an associate member of the Chichester Alumni Community Band, and a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He cherished summers spent at Crystal Beach, MD where he enjoyed boating & swimming. He treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchilden.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brad Scott (2020), his sister, Judy Scott and his niece, Lisa Turner. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Laura Scott (nee Lilley); his son, Glenn Scott (Becky); daughter-in-law, Charlene Scott; grandchildren, Alyssa Miller (Devon), Brennah, Laini, Zachary, and Joshua; Great-grandchilden, Ashlynn and James. Brother in law George Lilley (Judy) and nephews, Steven, Bryan, and Loren. Niece, Marybeth Brown (Gary), great nephews, great nieces, and many loving cousins.
A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060, where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to Holisticare Hospice, 985 Old Eagle Rd. Suite 504 Wayne, PA 19087. - click on donor
