Aleece Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Letcher Funeral Home, Inc. - Whitesburg on Aug. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Aleece Hall Jones left this world August 23, 2025, at her residence. Aleece was a caring mother, Gram, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

When thinking of Aleece, we think of family; honesty; integrity; and the University of Kentucky. She dedicated 40 years to working with LKLP Head Start and making a difference in other's lives. She was always so proud of Head Start and the important role it plays in both children and families' lives. Working with Head Start was more than a job for her; it was a way of life.

Aleece Hall Jones was the world's best to put others before herself. She was what we call a "Bucket Filler." To know her was to love her, and what a true blessing that is. She
was one of those people who made the world a better place. May we all live to carry on her legacy.

Proceeded in death by her loving parents Johnny (JNO.) and Nancy Hall; siblings Hargis Hall, Earl Hall, Gladys Hall Wright, Elmer Hall, Delmer Hall, and Amy Lee Hall
Turner; and children Lawrence Hall Maggard and Karen Maggard Corbett.

Aleece is survived by her children: Nancy (Glenn) Carter of Gilmer, Texas; Amy Kincer of Jenkins, Kentucky; son-in-law Richard Corbett of Jenkins Kentucky; and "adopted" daughter Ruth (Ralph) Bentley of Hazard Kentucky. Grandchildren: Joshua Carter, Jessamyn Carter, Mark (Patty) Carter, Kara Neri, Lawrence Jacob (Felicia) Maggard, Katelyn Maggard, Matthew (Heather) Corbett, Sarah Corbett, Gregory (Sydnee) Kincer, Karlee (Logan) Hawkins, Sharaye (Richard) Whitaker, Beverly (Cody) Cook, and Hadley Bentley. Along with 16 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.

Aleece would want everyone to remember, "I'm number one, you're number one." And "Go Big Blue."

The celebration of life will be on Saturday, August 30th at Letcher Funeral Home. Family services beginning at 12:00 then to the public 1:00-4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Aleece's honor to the LKLP Head Start.
