Alex J. Futscher, 90, of Alexandria, KY, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Saint Elizabeth, Fort Thomas. Alex was born in Camp Springs, KY, on February 3, 1931. Alex was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. After his military service he went to work for Trauth Dairy and retired after 41 years of service. Alex then went to work at the Alexandria Funeral Home for 25 years. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, where he helped to form the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Saint Mary Boosters. Alex was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Father DeJacco Council # 5220 and was instrumental in forming the K of C grade school basketball league. He was past Post Commander of Campbell County VFW #3205 and organized the Veteran's Day Parade and the annual turkey raffle for many years. Alex served on the Campbell County Police Merit Board for 25 years. One of Alex's most special memories was appearing on The Price is Right and winning the big showcase. Alex was preceded in death by his loving wife, Aline Futscher (nee Schneider); his parents, Aloys and Catherine (Siemon) Futscher; siblings: Edna Heiert, Stella Franzen, Carl Futscher, Maynard Futscher, and Jerry Futscher. Alex is survived by five children: Nancy (Jeff) Doller, Alan (Coyee) Futscher, Jim (Jayne) Futscher, Dave (Konnie) Futscher and Tom (Donna) Futscher; two sister in laws, Imogene Enzweiler and Mildred Bourdow; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and casserole queens. Visitation Monday, September 6, 2021, at Saint Mary Church, Alexandria from 2:00 PM – 4:45 PM with Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors in Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria. A Celebration of life will follow the burial at Saint Mary's Ballfield. Memorials are suggested to Sisters of Notre Dame-Uganda Mission, C\O Office of Mission Advancement, 1601 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, KY 41011 or Saint Vincent de Paul Society, C\O Saint Mary Parish, 8246 East Main Street, Alexandria, KY 41001
