Alexander Seal, of East Longmeadow, MA, departed from this life on May 17, 2022. He was predeceased by his father, J.D. Seal, Sr., and special nephew, Kirk J. Rideaux. He leaves behind his son, Joseph P. Mendes of Providence, RI; his parents, Bessie Cole and Foster Cole of East Longmeadow, MA; his brothers: Lawrence L. Rideaux of Springfield, MA; Kirk R. Rideaux and Annie Rideaux of East Hartford, CT; Jay D. Seal Jr. and Juanita Boykin of Springfield, MA; and Eric M. Cole, Sr. of Springfield, MA; a special nephew, Eric Cole Jr. of East Longmeadow, MA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loving family members and friends.
Alexander Seal was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 27th, 1972. He attended Commerce High School in Springfield, MA and Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA where he received his Certification in Human Services and later worked at the Holyoke Visiting Nurses Association to assist with the rehabilitation of those who suffered with substance abuse. He also worked as a Personal Care Assistant for the Stavros Center for Independent Living.
As we all know, Alexander was a big guy with a big heart to match, and commanded respect whenever he entered a room. He was known as "Big Al" and "C.P.O." to family and friends. Alex was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Georgia Bulldog Football fan. He enjoyed sports a lot. Alex was also an amazing cook and he specialized in making incredible BBQ dishes. Alexander was an amazing soul who will be dearly missed, especially all the laughs and joy that he brought to his family and friends.
The family would like to thank all who have sent their condolences and well wishes. Future services that will be held, will be announced at a later date.
