Alfred K. Barr, of Rockland, passed away on October 27, 2024 at the age of 66. He was the son of the late Corinne (Douglas) and Alfred J. Barr.
Al grew up in Randolph and was a graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton. He then went on to work a lengthy career as a foreman in the sheet metal industry. Al worked for Commercial Sheet Metal for 32 years and then went on to work the last 12 years at Ocean Works. In 1982, he married Marilynn (Kreckler) and the two settled in Rockland to raise their family.
Al was an outgoing man who everyone loved. He was generous and always willing to help others. Al enjoyed going camping, doing yard work, motorcycles and his mustang. Above all, he loved spending time with his family - whether it was helping his daughters and son-in-laws work on their home or being with his grandchildren.
Al was the loving husband of Marilynn Barr of Rockland. Father of Jessica Barr of Quincy, Megan Cuddy and her husband Mark of Whitman, Heather Grillon and her husband Peter of S. Easton, and Samantha Powell and her husband Dustin of Middleboro. Grandfather of Rita and Hadley Cuddy, Peter and Samuel Grillon, and Corinne Powell. Brother of Deborah Barr of Dover, NH and Diane Coakley and her husband Dave of Greenland, NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 3rd from 3:00PM-6:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Rockland - 45 E. Water St. A funeral home service will be held Monday, November 4th at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
The family requests that all attending please wear bright colors to celebrate Al's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lions Club International.
