Visitation for Alfred Bohot is scheduled for Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2023 beginning at 10:30AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Warda.
Alfred Herman Bohot (93) of Warda, passed away February 25, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Alfred was born in Warda, Texas on Janaury 8, 1930 to Robert and Minna Bohot. He married the love of his life, Ruby (Lehman) Bohot on June 18, 1950 and they had two sons, Charles Robert and Keith Alan Bohot and one daughter, Marsha Bohot Sheffield.
Alfred enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching and barbequing. He was a longtime member and former President of the Fayette County Farm Bureau. Alfred enjoyed traveling to places such as Hawaii, Alaska and even Germany. He loved listening to KVLG KBUK in the mornings and he was a fan of the Houston Oilers and Astros. Most of all, Alfred loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Alfred is survived by his two sons, Charles Robert Bohot (Diane) and Keith Alan Bohot (Francine); one daughter, Marsha Bohot Sheffield; Sister, Wilma Kaiser (JC); grandchildren, Meredith Misener (Chuck), Samantha Murley (Chris), April Rascoe (Jonathan), Noelle Beck (Bryan), Jaclyn Bauman (John), Robert Bohot, Connor and Levi McClenny (Jacqueline); and eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by wife, Ruby Bohot; his parents; sisters, Helen (Edward) Kaiser and Gladys (Leslie) Giese; three sister-in-laws, Lorene Lehmann (Arthur), Bernice Mahlmann (Bill), and Mildred Lorenz (Anton); son-in-law, Jack Sheffield; infant twin great granddaughters, Gracie and Ruby Rascoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Holy Cross General Fund (Warda), Faith Lutheran High School (Warda) or to a charity of one’s choice.
