Alfred "Mac" Hicks Sr.

Alfred Hicks, better known as "Mac," 81, passed away on Feb. 29, 2024 in Chesapeake, VA. He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon; parents, Alfred and Mae Hicks; sisters, Audrey and Marie; and his brother, James. Mac was a kind and generous man with a huge heart. He loved fishing and prided in being a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Latimer and her husband Hallett; son Al Hicks and his wife Laura; grandchildren, Heather Bennett, Krisie Markham, and Preston Latimer; great-grandchildren, Easton Thorne, Carson Bennett, Skylar Bennett, and Kinsley Carte; sisters, Margaret Davenport, Louise Harris, Elsie Butler, Rena Slugg, and Virginia Holland; brother, Floyd Hicks and wife Kimberly; along with many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. The funeral will be held at 11am in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mac's name to the SPCA.
