Alice Fay Cook

Alice Fay (George) Cook, 98, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Born March 11, 1927, in Parks Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles C. George & E. Fay (Anderson) George.
Alice was a 1945 graduate of Vandergrift High School and was employed as a clerk at the former Murphy's 5¢ and 10¢ in Vandergrift and worked cleaning homes.
Alice liked roller skating and cruising in cars in her younger years. She enjoyed bowling at Lee's Lanes in Vandergrift PA and in traveling leagues scoring several 300 games.
Alice absolutely loved decorating for all the holidays especially Christmas and watching old television shows; Lawrence Welk, Lucille Ball, the Carol Burnett Show, Hee Haw and Dean Martin. She also enjoyed watching and ordering from QVC. She also was a Huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers always cheering for wins and pridefully wearing her football jerseys.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ira J. Cook; sisters, Norma Lyons, Freda Schrecengost, Marie Coulter, Martha Blose, Helen Wolford, Betty Riggle; and her brother, Charles D. George.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Crookston of Saltsburg; granddaughter, Rickie L. (Robert) Zanone of Mt. Lebanon; sister, Kathleen Kuruc of Parks Township; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
At the request of the family, there will be a private family viewing prior to the Memorial Service. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel at the mausoleum of Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, New Kensington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
