Alice Anne Holdaway Pope, 87, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.
Born in Indianapolis and raised in Clarksville, Alice was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. Alice was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holiday celebrations. She was a talented seamstress and gifted artist. Her warm smile and welcoming presence made everyone feel at home.
In her free time, Alice loved to garden, play cards, read, travel & spend time with her grandchildren. She had a deep love for nature and found solace in the beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and even made trips around Europe.
Alice will be deeply missed & remembered fondly for her love, compassion, and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Terri Mosgrove Dattilo of Jeffersonville, IN; son Scott Mosgrove (Karen) of Louisville, KY; step-sons Steve Pope (Kelli) and Chris Pope (Carlotta); sister Karen Holdaway Vaughn; sister-in-law Martha Ann Brummett Holdaway; daughter-in-law Debbie Pope; along with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Angelo "Dickie" Pope; father Benjamin Holdaway; mother Catherine Holdaway; step-mother Marie Holdaway; step-son Mark Pope; step-daughter Deanna Haines; brother David Holdaway.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until the service at the Funeral Home.
