Mrs. Alice Mona "Mimi" Whisenhunt 90 of Homer, Georgia went home to be with Jesus on Monday October 28, 2024 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born October 17, 1934 in Atlanta to the late Henry Boyce and Edna Dempsey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Lester R. Whisenhunt who she shared a wonderful life filled with unwavering love, strength, and commitment. She is also proceeded in death by her brothers, John and Joe Dempsey, grandchildren, Megan and Chad Wingo, Jeremy Orr, infant grandson Johnathan Lyon, and infant great grandson Skylor Whisenhunt. Alice dedicated her life to loving the Lord and serving her family. She was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia for over 30 years. She was a loving homemaker who worked each day, creating a warm and welcoming home.
From childhood, Alice was loving and giving to all she knew. She started working at the young age of 14 to help provide for her family after World War II. She continued giving selflessly throughout her lifetime. Alice was witty up until the end of life. She had an uncanny ability to recall dates, places and events. Everyone who knew her marveled over her memory. She could recite poems as well as stories from memory up into the end of life. She loved to recall her childhood, memories of her husband and all the memories of raising her family. Those were her fondest memories. Alice was so proud of her family. Alice's greatest desire in her life was for her family to all have a personal relationship with Jesus.
She leaves behind a family who loved her and will cherish all the wonderful memories. We stand with peace knowing she is with our loving savior and that we will see her again.
She leaves behind son Randall Whisenhunt (Carol) of Monroe, son, David Whisenhunt (Cindy) of Ranger, daughter, Renea (Todd) Minish of Hartwell, daughter Jody (David) Parks of Homer. Grand daughter, Amber great grandchildren Benjamin and Arabella Brown, grandson Jason Whisenhunt, great grandchildren Genevieve, Stella, Daniel, Waylon, Albert Jon and Emma May Whisenhunt. Great granddaughter Jaden (Brandon) Smith, grandson Jesse Lyon, grandson Jonah Whisenhunt, great grandchildren, Elijah, Ezra and Kaiya Orr, granddaughter Amanda Renea (Brad) Lancaster great children Rhett and Emorie Lancaster, grandson, Jacob (Julie) great grandchildren Mason, Evelin, Lillian, Nolan, Whisenhunt, granddaughter Grace (Richard) Gasaway, great grandson Gabriel Gasaway (expected January 2025) and many relatives.

Thoughts and prayers are with our Georgia Whisenhunt´s during this difficult time. I will forever remember Aunt Mona as a classy, well dressed, loving lady who loved the Lord and adored her husband, children and grandchildren so very much. I wish we lived closer so I could have known her better. I do know her mark on earth was BOLD because of the love she poured into her family and her Christian service.
