Alice Yingst Obituary

Alice A. Johnstone was born on October 25, 1933 in Jerome, Idaho. She joined her parents Florence and Aubrey Johnstone and her older brother, Dale.
Alice spent her growing up years on various farms around Jerome, helping in the familys fields, garden, driving tractor and helping with the animals. She loved playing with her dog Gus and riding her horse, Pepper.
She attended school in Jerome, then business school in Twin Falls.
She married Donovan Yingst on August 28, 1955. They had known each other throughout their youth, as their parents were in a card group together.
Alice and Don moved to Boise after their marriage. Alice worked in a bank until their two daughters were born. She was then able to stay home with them.
The family moved to Portland, Oregon, for Dons work, then later to Anchorage, Alaska.
Alice retired from the payroll department with the Anchorage School District. Alice and Don moved back to Boise in 1983. They built a house in west Boise, later moving to Meridian.
Don passed away August 2, 2017. Alice lived with her daughter, Susan and grandson, Michael in Boise, until her death.
Alice loved her family and delighted in spending time with her great grandchildren. Patti coming to visit was a happy time for her. She enjoyed reading and crocheting when she was able. Watching the food channel was also a favorite pastime.
She is survived by her daughter Patti (Ron) Cline in Ellensburg, Washington, her daughter Susan, grandsons Michael, Clinton (Brittney), and Thomas (Tracie) Wyllie. Alice also is survived by her great grandchildren Sawyer, Conner, Calder and Lilyann.
Services will be in Jerome, Idaho at a later date. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Alice, please visit our Tree Store.
