On May 21, 2025, the world became darker when our sweet, beautiful angel on earth was called home to be with our Lord. To say that we were beyond blessed to have her in our world would be an understatement. She showed us what pure love is and for her family and loved ones, that will be the biggest thing that will forever remain with us and remind us of her.

Alicia was born on August 27, 1997, to Floyd Atencio and Christine Lopez in Illeshiem Germany. She was the first-born daughter and granddaughter; she was the sun, the moon and the stars to them. The things that brought her joy and the things that she loved the most were her family, eating, playing with her toys, and watching any cartoon or movie that had music, and not necessarily in that order.

Alicia leaves behind so many people who love and already miss her immensely. Her brother, Floyd Atencio, who doted on and cared for her, and she knew that he was the best brother that any sister could ever have; her mom, Christine and stepdad, Jason Lopez who feels so very brokenhearted, the world started ended with her and without Alicia in it, the world is forever changed; her grandpa, Gabriel Atencio and grandma, Tessie Atencio, Alicia had a very special and unique bond with her grandma, and she knew her every wish would be granted by grandma, Tessie, Alicia loved her with all of her heart; grandma, Loyola Apodaca, her grandparents, Harold and Tina Lopez, who she loved to stay with when her parents went out of town because they spoiled her, and she loved the warm quilts that Tina made especially for her; her uncle, Matthew Newman and Monica Newman (her Nina); her cousins, Brian Varela Jr. with who she also had a very special bond with, Jacob Newman; her Nino, Brian Varela Sr.; her uncle, Gabriel Atencio Jr.; her aunt, Roberta Atencio; cousins, Gabriel I, Gabriella, Veronica Atencio and uncle, Roger Atencio.

We know that Alicia had a lot of love welcoming her into paradise, her father, Floyd Atencio; her sister, Elena Atencio; her grandpa, James Cummings; her great-aunt, Gloria Stuart; her great -grandma, Rita Muñoz, who we know Alicia yearned to sing with while she could only do it in her heart here on earth, we are sure that she sang with her immediately with the voice that she finally got in heaven, also waiting for her were many cousins, great-aunts and uncles, and great -grandparents, we can only imagine that the reunion must have been beautiful.

A celebration of all of the love, happiness and joy that she brought to us will be held at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Jospeh's Dr. NW- Albuquerque, on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
